I prefer the green spring. It gives you usable power on the bottom, and quick zip at any time( the most even delivery of power). This bike makes me a much better rider than I really am. I love it; all I can do is smile. Almost every one I ride with has plans to switch to KTM. I will never own anything else - It's that good!

I killed my friend first day on the bike at the track. The bike is so smooth and it just rails corners. It handles like a dream. I traded in an 05 KX250F for it and haven't looked back. I'll never go back to anything but orange and it starts easy! almost first kick even when hot dont know how the quality is yet cause ive only had one track day on it but sure it will be great

Absolutely the most versatile bike I have owned. The power and handling are very impressive and this bike will make most anyone look good. It is so easy to ride yet handles single track, wide open desert or motocross with ease. Once jetted properly, you most likely will not need ANY engine mods cause this bike has plenty of power. All the components on the bike are top notch. Mine has been stone reliable. Recommend this bike to most anyone. If you ride it-you will buy one.

The handling and power of the bike are the best. Air craft quality, this machine is race ready. Fast, agile and light. I see broken down blue and green fast bikes, trouble starting fast red bikes, very respectable but slower yellow bikes, so my world is now a new color. And I am in love. Single... read more

I see broken down blue and green fast bikes, trouble starting fast red bikes, very respectable but slower yellow bikes, so my world is now a new color. And I am in love. Single track or desert, this is the one. Some one would say for desert, a 650 would be better and for single track a 250 would be better, but for me, my KTM is way BETTER.

Bought this bike used with about 25 hours on it. I had ridden CR's, YZ's, Harleys and BMW's a long time ago, but wanted a good bike that seemed to have a following. KTM seemed to fit the bill and I wanted something that would have the power to pull my big butt around. Man did I find it. I knew I had done well when the guys I was riding with wanted to ride my 450 EXC. They have been riding dirt for many years and wanted a piece of this. All they could do was get off and shake their heads. They said they didn't like riding it 'cause it made them not want to ride theirs (KLX300R & '02 KTM 400EXC). It did throw me on my butt within the first 10 minutes. Just it's way of letting me know who was boss. We rode for several hours in deep sand and tank ruts on a military reservation. I could only tell how good my bike was when I rode theirs. Great bike and KTM has a real following.

A couple desert trips, Randsburg ride from Charlie's Place, Jawbone, Hollister, Pozo and general fun riding have definitely placed this bike as my favorite after owning and riding many bikes in my 30+ years of riding. The bike feels like it was custom made for my level of riding and is an awesome experience to fly across the desert at warp speeds. Its ability to tractor up the most rugged hills is something that must be experienced. I love my KTM.

After 15 years of motocross racing, I settled for some trail riding adventure. What a perfect ride the 525EXC turned out to be. I had never ridden one and was skeptical of the size coming off 250F moto bikes. But, what a pleasant bike! So docile, yet it HAS POWER! Ergonomics feel great for a tall rider. It is a well put together bike. It is quality from the bars, the hydraulic clutch, to the wheels, etc. After 1300+ miles of grueling woods and desert riding, in only two months, the bike still feels new (doesn't look it) and had not one problem. AWESOME!
