2005 Honda reviews

Last year I got this bike for Christmas. I had a Yamaha and thought it was the best thing ever. I was wrong. The Honda was a little hard to start at first due to its cold nature, but when it came to life, it was like everything broke loose. The Honda laughed at the things the Yamaha cringed at. My Yamaha wasnt able to go up hills like the Honda can. The Yamaha would be at like 5,000 rpm. going up a hill, the Honda maybe 2,000. The Honda CRF 150F is a very versatile bike and can go anywhere. I never get scared anymore of being alone and it not starting - why, because it always starts. I love this bike. Show less

After 20 years of not riding (had kids, wife made me quit, I am back in the saddle and chose the Honda Shadow Spirit 1100 as my bike to get started again. I didn't want a bike too big or heavy to start with. This was PERFECT! I am now getting ready to sell this bike to my son who is looking for his first bike and I am ready to get back into a full-size touring bike. Show less

I bought this bike used in the fall of 2011 with 11,500 km's on it and put on 1,000 since then. I am very impressed with the appearance, handling, power and reliability of this bike. Honda did an excellent job with this machine. It has plenty of get up and go power. Brakes provide plenty of stopping power. It's a relatively inexpensive bike but it's still got great quality. I like the shaft drive and aluminum wheels. Mine also came with factory flames. Spend half the cost of that you would on a Harley and get a Honda and the reliability that comes with it. I've owned several Honda ATV's and dirt bikes throughout the years. Take care of them and they'll run forever just about. Only complaints I have, no tachometer, and no fuel gauge. I would also suggest a Mustang seat for the longer trips. Show less

I just got myself a 2005 Honda CRF250R and the only word I could say after my first ride on it was "wow". This bike is absolutely amazing. It has insane power for a 250 4 stroke and has really good suspension. After reading reviews on this bike I was a little hesitant with all the valve problems and carb bog. I have never experienced any of those problems. This bike just flat out rips and I will have it for a very long time! Show less

This is sort of my first bike. I had a Rebel 250 about five years ago, but to me that doesn't count. My wife slammed the Rebel after I had it a month, so my time on it was limited. The amount of confidence I had after my first ride was unbelievable! It is very balanced, very smooth and has plenty of power! My only complaint echos many others. I dislike the "cold-bloodedness" of the bike and I wouldn't mind a fuel gauge. However, this is a "Retro" bike and I suppose a fuel gauge wouldn't be very "retro." I am not the first owner of the bike and I've only had it a week, but I've already put 500 miles on it and I love it. I went into the search process looking for a Harley, anything from Sporty to Fat Boy. But I came across this beauty and I was ultra impressed by the price. Once I took the first ride, I was hooked. I had this bike for about a year now and couldn't be happier with it. It is very easy to stay on the pipe. It obviously can't compete with modern EFI bikes but it leaves old carbernator 250fs in the dust! It's very light and nimble with great looks and is very fun to ride. Show less

I love the bike. I ride it every day. The original seat was terrible but no worries. With a Mustang wide touring with backrest, I now can ride 10 hours a day. It's just right on the power and fit and everything. If you weigh 160 pounds, the original seat is probably good. I'm so happy I put the good seat on. I would have quit riding without it. 45 miles to the gallon - I love it. Show less

I had been riding Vulcans the last 12 years, but came back to Honda four months ago. The bike had 7,100 miles on it, now it is at 15,450. It handles like a dream, is comfortable and is good for around town or around the world. It has more power than you need, it's great for 2 up riding - you can't get more motorcycle for your money than this bike. Show less

I own the 2000 1100 Sabre and let me tell you something!!! This is the best bike I ever owned. I been riding since 1993 and when I first got this bike in 2002, I did all the leather accessory buying, saddle bags, sissy bar, tassles, and tool carrier; friends loved it. I decided to go another direction with it; I decided to "show it". A friend of mine and I collaborated together and have done a fabulous paint detail on it and I have so far put it in six bike shows and have five first place trophies and one second place trophy. People mouths drop when they find out that it's a HONDA! I would not trade it for the world. In fact I know friends that have personally traded their Harley in for a Honda after seeing mine and what it could do. Show less
