Other than that the bike has been perfect. It is great for long rides and great in the curves. My Interceptor and I have spent many days at the Dragon's Tail in Tennessee/North Carolina (318 curves in 11 miles). I would recommend this bike to anyone. 17,500 miles and counting!

I was sure I was going to get a 02 R6 but found the CBR at a good price. Wow, wow, wow. I picked it up two hours away from home and rode it back at night in 35 degree weather. The highway ride was awesome. This bike performs and performs well. My wrist was a bit sore by the end of the ride and maybe it could use a more comfortable aftermarket seat, but I do not regret switching to Honda. Most of my friends have Yamaha and they haven't seen my CBR yet. Let the competition begin!

So I recently traded the Vulcan in on a 2004 GL1800 in Titanium. WOW! This is the bike I have been looking for. It has the power and handling of a big, bad sport bike, the ride of a BMW 7 Series, and the bags and trunk to carry a weekend's worth of stuff along. I could never get my wife to go more than 5 or 10 miles on my other bikes, because they hurt her butt. Not so on the 'Wing. She LOVES that seat! If you ever get the chance to ride a GL1800, take it. But, don't be surprised if you find yourself figuring out how to get yourself a Gold Wing! Have owned CB350; KZ750; KZ900; KZ1000; GS-L1100; GSX600R; VN750 and now this GL1800. This is by far the best ride I have ever owned.

I bought this bike new 2 years ago. I split lanes on the 405 the first day. It has heavy steering and requires very deliberate force on the handlebars to corner tightly at slow speeds but the amount this bike can be laid over in a smooth turn is amazing considering how low it is. Get it out on the freeway and this cruise missile keeps up with the crotch rockets to about 120mph where I tend to start to contemplate my mortality. Longest ride was to Big Sur with a couple Beemer guys. It is not hard to ride at high speed without a fairing. The stretch of the headlight creates a laminar flow of air that if you lean forward into it holds a full face helmet up nicely with no buffeting in the head or chest. It turns heads in Brentwood here in West LA and that's not easy with all the Aston Martins, Lamborghinis, etc. People ask me what it is all the time or just stand and stare at it. Always remember to stand up over big freeway bumps. The rear sport suspension can pound you.

It seemed too large and powerful at first, but I have since learned to control it, love it, and push it to its limits. At my height and inseam, an 1800 might have been a better choice, but I adapted my 1300 for comfort and style instead. Overall, the 1300 can't be beat. Solid performance and great looks - just a great package. I have updated many parts to improve the ride quality and comfort, but even stock, the bike is great. I've done many short and long trips, two-up, with lots of luggage, and the VTX has always performed like a champ. I would recommend it to pretty much anyone looking for a metric cruiser.

I purchased this bike without ever riding it or ever seeing one in person. I knew from the day my friend emailed a photo of it to me and said 'THIS bike is YOU' I had to have it. Once I took delivery of it and straddled this beast and fired it up, the grin did not come off my face for hours. My inaugural ride was over 500 miles from the dealership to my home and I could not have been happier. It performs even better than it looks. I have only owned it for 5 months now, and already have 10000 miles on it. The power from the HO six engine is super smooth and the torque is unbelievable, and the linked braking system is awesome. The only thing I wish Honda had done better is spec'd a more durable front tire for this beauty. I've had to replace the front after only 5800 miles and I am close to replacing the front again, while the rear tire still has lots of tread. That said, this is the most refined, elegant, and complete bike I have ever owned or ridden in my 40+ years of riding, bar none!

My 2004 Rune had only 4 miles on it when I bought it the month of September 2007 and I've only put 400 miles on it so far. But I can tell you I've found my friend for life. My wife likes a cool looking bike and I doubt I'll ever find one that looks better than this one. The ride is smooth, the look is great, and people strain their necks to get a look at it.

Now, 3 years later, she's at 105,208 miles (no that's not a typo) and still running as smooth and strong as she did the day I rolled her off the showroom floor. I never had any major problems; just a couple CCTs, a couple warped front brake rotors, 1 broken clutch cable at 65k and 1 rectifier/regulator right after turning 100k... that's it! All the rest has just been routine maintenance and normal wear items. This has got to be one of the best "all aroundgreat bikes out there. Awesome performance and handling, comfy ergos, rock solid reliability... what more could I ask for? I still love this bike and have no plans of getting rid of it anytime soon! It is still ridden each and everyday for my 90 mile/day commute to work and back, as well as road trips on the weekend. I just got back from a 10 day, 3000 mile road trip from south Florida to Deals Gap, NC, as well as TN and N. GA. No problems whatsoever!

I ride it all year round, just bundle up for winter. I've had an '84 Honda Magna and then an '03 Shadow Spirit 750. The Shadows look was nice but the 919 overall can't be touched. It's fast, loud, and looks mean. The speed of a sportbike but with a cruisers feel. Wind in your face, seated more upright and no plastics to hide the bikes guts. I highly recommend it if you don't want a sportbike but want the speed & ability to zip through traffic. This is literally an all-purpose motorcycle.
