Alas, I have traded in my cruiser for a Hayabusa. But I rode my Intruder for 2 wonderful years and never had a complaint. I would've kept it and got the Hayabusa, but a little voice told me no. (That voice was my wife's.) I went on a 4 day tour with it and loved every second. I was completely comfortable the entire trip. I was getting 45 mpg throughout no matter what altitude. The Harley riders were getting a little tender in their hindquarters by the end of the day, but I never did. The stock saddle is amazing and I had no problem keeping up, actually, leading the other cruisers. Plenty of power and awesome reliability. If you are looking for a cruiser, this is it. I'll miss mine.

I have ridden this bike 14000 miles in 7 months and it has been problem free. It is quite fast and handles fairly well. I switched to a 636 for two years but due to money issues I am back on the Bandit. It is not as fast as the Ninja, but the stock gearing helps to allow the bike to perform quite well considering its weight and horsepower. I would recommend this bike to anyone who enjoys riding often, you will get nearly the same performance as a supersport with much better fuel economy and more comfortable ride.

Really like it, big difference from the 500 and world's more than the 250. No comparison for 4 cyl. vs 2 cyl. and the carbs to go with it. A really fun bike, somewhat heavy but controllable and very stable. Really do hope they continue to make them as rumor has it the Katana will be discontinued...hope not! Even so, it will still be a fun bike for a long time!

It is thirsty and chews up tires and definetly not for rookies. It is not idiot proof. It will probably flip in first and it will slide out in a corner if you just nail it. So discretion will give you tons of fun. Wait til after 4000 rpm before you nail it. You'll probably want to change the sprockets to give a more appropriate power band. It is geared too short from the factory. Live it up, with discretion.

This is an update to an earlier review. I'm appreciating my 2003 Burgman 650 more and more with every mile. It's comparatively the easiest to use and most agile motorcycle I've ever owned, and I've ridden plenty. 0 to 60 acceleration is better than 99% of the cars out there commuting. I just sold my 1997 Goldwing in favor of keeping this machine as my daily driver. I can't wait to see the 2007 models. I've never written more praising comments about any vehicle I've ever owned.
