This is the best 125 I have ever had I raced it and it had so much power it almost scared me but not quite. Jumping it is really easy because it is so light. It runs great when you want the power. It will give it to you. I'd say if your 13 to 19 and in between 5'7 and 6'3, you should get it and it's worth every penny. Show less

This bike is really nice. It's got a lot of balls for an 85. It comes up in a wheelie so easily. This is so fun to ride I would definitely recommend it. Show less

I've put 39,000 miles on my LC and it won't wear out. I've replaced the battery twice and the tires several times, tuned it twice and change the oil and filter every 5000 miles with Rotella synthetic. that's pretty much it. I wanted to buy a new bike but this one won't wear out. I guess I'm stuck with one of the best bikes made. Show less

I bought this bike new in 03. I have had more fun on this bike than any other I have ridden. It has such smooth power. I average about 38 mpg, however when you get up to 80 on the highway the mileage drops dramatically. Over all you can't beat this bike for the price. Show less

Such a beast; such a monster. It has awesome power and incredible handling. I've outgrown the bike, but it is still the best bike I have ever ridden because it has unimaginably amazing maneuverability and enough power for strolling up enormous hills like nobody's business. You can't ask for anything more in a bike. It is super lightweight, easy to ride and has an awesome powerband. It is easy to putt around the yard without ever fouling a sparkplug. It has awesome suspension and super great reliability. I can ride faster on this bike than many other big bikes because it is so easy to maneuver and control and so fun to scream through the gears. I've had the yearning for a liter v-twin for some time and the SV1000S has totally fulfilled it. The great thing about a stock SV1KS is that you can really build it up however you want. Some simple suspension upgrades will make this a potent track machine. Change the clip-ons, seat, and add some luggage and you've got a mile-eating sport-tourer. The power from the 996 motor is excellent. While newer 600cc supersport bikes will match the SV in straight line launches it's the torque at any rpm that makes it special. You can virtually leave it in any gear and have instant acceleration whenever you want it. I find the half naked styling very appealing especially with the belly scoop. Very cool for OEM plastic. OEM fairings are available but it's the half faired styling that sets the SV apart in my opinion. There are a few other liter v-twins on the market but for the money I don't think there is a better value than the SV1000S. There is a decent aftermarket available which makes upgrading and modding easy and not super expensive. But for me I think it's the uniqueness of the bike that sets it apart. A Japanese liter v-twin, easily made into track monster or sport-tourer. Easy to work on and to maintain. I think I've found motorcycling nirvana. Show less

This is a really good machine. I bought it used a couple of years ago and I can't think of anything negative to say about it. It is extremely reliable, and so far it hasn't cost me a dime for parts or repairs. I've owned a lot of bikes over the past 40 years, including several Harleys, and this Volusia Intruder has proven to be one heck of a "Best Bang for the Buckinvestment. Show less

I've put over 28000 trouble free miles on my LC and it runs better than new. I replaced the battery after a couple of years and am on my third set of tires, other than normal maintenance, that's it. There are no valve adjustments and after buying a shop manual, service is easy. I use Rotella synthetic oil from Walmart and change oil every 5000 miles.
