Sure you pay a little extra, but way the options. Japanese bike: thrown together by machines, garbage suspension, garbage pipe, garbage handlebars, etc... Cannondale: Handmade here in AMERICA, best suspension around, fuel injected, Map it to ride the way you like it, awsome customer support. The list goes on and on. Like I said forget about japanese bikes. You can break your bank buying one, then have to spend another $2000 - $3000 in upgrades that you get free on a Cannondale. Do a little research, and buy one. WOW! What a dirt bike! It handles like a dream. Has a powerband from idle to redline. And the throttle response is like nothing you've ever experienced before. I traded a 2001 XR650L for my 2002 Cannondale X440S and have not regretted my decision one bit. Riding this bike makes you feel confident about doing things you may have never dreamed of before. Also I really like the Silver and Black color scheme. Definately test drive one of these before making a buying decision, you owe it to yourself to try a GREAT American product! Show less

This bike is a rolls royce.... best forks on the market, fuel injected, elec. start. I just cant say enough good things about it. Show less
