With a new .95 kg/mm spring and cartridge emulators from Race Tech and a 25mm hike in the rear preload after a static sag test, it handles like a Honda 600 F4i. The suspension change also cured the high speed sweeper and crosswind weave which this bike is prone to.

Two gripes are the overheating - fan comes on quite quickly in town (but never on the open road), the lack of low down torque. These mean the TT is best suited to country roads rather than the city. Despite these gripes, I would recommend the 2001 TT600 to anyone.

I recently purchassed a 2002 Bonnie and had it modified with performance silencers, tachometer kit and rear grab bar. Although I'm still breaking it in here are my initial observations from a rider who had been away from motorcycling for many years, but, had raced in sportsman and pro class back in the 70's. This bike is all about simple pleasures. It is not blazing fast nor stop on a dime nimble. Neither is it particularly well suited for long rides on the interstate at speed. However, if your requirements, like mine, are for some back road gallops and around town commuting then this bike will take you there and back while keeping your face in a constant grin. I have had none of the clutch problems that affected earlier 2001 models and so far no leaks, rattles or peeling chrome. I have instead a simple unpretentious bike that is tons of fun to ride and good looking as well. I've owned dozens of bikes over the years including a few old British singles and twins. The new Bonnie is a nice refinement of those old classics.

I purchased my Bonnie June 01, and I've appreciated it's overall riding characteristics. I rode a Yamaha 650 for years, and wanted a modern (large) vertical twin. I love the spirited handling (I ride with Rocket Boys mostly), the power, and my constant thank you's to all those people with their thumbs up. I have 9,500 miles on it, and I have no aversion to taking it on dry logging roads or wet pavement. I ride when many dare not. Pretty neat. I have had warranty repairs (e.g. clutch chatter in 1st gear, and a leaking oil banjo), but the dealer repaired and replaced as necessary. The RAT Pack I belong to is active, and a spirited bunch of serious riders - male and female.

I had been out of motorcycling for about 12 years. When the opportunity came around to re-enter the hobby I looked intensely to find something inexpensive, dependable, and classy. This bike filled all 3 criteria. I drove it for almost 3 years without a single problem. Thats right, not a single problem. It started and performed flawlessly every time I took it out. You can't ask for more than that. Plenty of power right where you want it. Enough comfort to handle 100 to 200 mile journeys. I recommend this bike to anyone. Whether you are an expert or entry level rider, you'll appreciate this bike for what it is. A great bike built by a great company. Nuff said.

I am a 17 year old guy who was looking for a great bike to replace my old 1973 honda CB. Rather than getting a CBR or Ninja, I decided to stick with the family tradition and buy a Triumph. I have really liked the TT since it came out and heard all the magazines tear it up. I found one at my local dealer and had to go for it. I am so glad I did. It Handles better than anyother bike I have ridden and after you get the RPM's up it will really go too. One of the best things about this bike is that it isn't one everyone has. Typically a teenager doesn't have the income to pay for a bike of this caliper so I can really enjoy knowing I am the only one on one for quite a distance. As far as looks go, In the first two days of riding it girls that have never paid attention to me started to wave everytime they saw me. Go figure.

It is not a sport bike, and has never pretended to be one, but in the right hands, will embarass a lot of so- called sport bikes. It has that wonderful 3 cyl. howl, comfort for all day riding, a cruising sweetspot 80- 100 mph, stone reliable, and gets 40+ mpg. For my riding habits, I couldn't imagine a better bike.

I have had my 2001 ST for 12 months and have done 6000 kms of trouble free and thoroughly enjoyable riding. This bike is exactly what I was looking for. Great for long distance and can still be thrown around if the urge is there. I have not had any trouble with my clutch cable however I have just received a recall notice to have the cable replaced so that should eliminate any future problems. Fuel economy is excellent and with the large tank gives me in excess of 400 kms before a refill. The seat could be a little softer however it didn't take long to get used to it. I would recommend the ST to anyone who is looking for a dual purpose tourer come sports bike. Would I buy another Triumph? Absolutely, except I plan on keeping my ST for a long time yet.
