I bought a 2000 V92c in August, finally caving into the desire to own a cruiser instead of the other bikes I had owned. The Victory was priced right--basically the same cost as a Yamaha Road Star or Kawasaki Classic 1500 FI. The Victory now has over 5,000 miles on it, and I haven't had any serious problems with it, but "little things" have happened, such as burning out 2 tail lights already, and dealing with one stripped bolt on the rear fender of the bike where many accessories are placed. As stated just about everywhere, the transmission is loud, but it works well. You will, however, want to upgrade the exhaust system/power mapping chip right away. Also, Polaris seems to have agreements with many after-market part dealers, so the majority of bolt-on parts come straight from Victory, although many dealers offer discounts if you purchase the bike from them. As an owner, we only hope further companies will make new accessories for the bike. You will also want to purchase the additional 4-year warranty just in case--heck, it's a relatively new product. If you are looking for an American motorcycle that sells at a much more realistic price, and you are willing to deal with small "character flaws," then this might be the bike for you. Most dealers allow you to test-ride a demo before buying...sieze the opportunity!
