Lots stop and look and ask about it at runs. Only wish I had the Freddom II motor (W/ Stage II, even more guts).

The bike has good power and great brakes. The seat is comfortable and you have no problem on 500-mile days. I go to a lot of local motorcycle events and usually get a lot of attention from the curious. I would definitely recommend a Victory if you're past buying a piece of driveway jewelry just because it has HD on the tank. If you want to ride this is the bike to get. 1999s and 2000s are selling well under the MSRP since the name has not really got much recognition yet and the bikes aren't selling as well as the competition. Lots of good deals out there.

I have a 2000 V92C with about 2500 miles on it now. It is a good motorcycle. It handles well. It has good power and excellent brakes. Although frequently mentioned, I don't find the clutch or transmission to be bothersome. The bike does not have a good level of fit and finish. Some examples include exposed wiring with agricultural looking connectors, bolts and other hardware that corrode and/or rust because they lack proper plating, and peeling chrome. These problems are easy enough to fix, but an owner shouldn't have to at this price level. The heart of the motorcycle is strong, but Polaris needs to work on the details. The main reason I would give this bike 3 stars instead of 4 is the poor support from the manufacturer and the dealer network (4 stars for the bike, 2 stars for factory support). I have not found a dealer in Colorado that stocks parts or accessories for the Victory. They must be ordered. I have tried to contact the manufacturer for some assistance with minor problems because their dealer network is unresponsive. In my opinion they are unresponsive because they know that the factory will not support them. If you have ever been caught between Microsoft saying your software problem is with the computer manufacturer and the computer manufacturer saying the problem is with Windows, then you can relate to the situation. If the Victory is to become a viable competitor in the motorcycle industry (and I hope they do), then they need to go to a Honda dealership and learn how to take care of the customer. They also need to clean up the cheap fasteners.

This bike is so comfortable and stable, yet handles like a sportbike! The torque is amazing and the powerband is nice and wide. Seems to take a good bit of choke and throttle to get her warmed up but that is just an observation - not a complaint. I'm glad now that the area Harley dealerships were arrogant jerks - otherwise I wouldn't have test ridden the Vic! This bike blows away HD - and you don't have to pay 3k over MSRP for the name and "mystique". I also like the fact that Victory doesn't prostitute its name on coffee, beanie babies, etc. like that other USA company;) I recommend this bike wholeheartedly!!!!

Today, 5/24/01 I received my new Black, 2001 Victory V92C, with custom taper mufflers + performance chip and carbon fiber fender rails. So to this point in time, after all these years ... this is the smoothest most powerful American-made V-twin I have ever owned. Now only time will tell, regarding all the other facets that make up the thrill of owning a motorcycle.

I like the floorboards and windshield. The transmission and clutch were extremely smooth and didn't make any noticeable noise or clunks. I guess that's the improvement over last year. It rode a bit stiff for me, but I think they are only asking $11,800 for it from a $15,199 list price. It felt nice and of high quality. I liked the seat. Handlebars stretched my arms out like a big gorilla.

I took a 2000 model Victory 92C for a test ride today. I was surprised at how smooth the ride was. The bike had plenty of power and was well balanced. I liked the digital info. display that is mounted in the top of the headlight. A switch located on the back of the right hand grip lets you scan through vital info. for the bike. It tells you exactly how much gas is in the tank etc... I had read that the Victory bikes vibrated a lot. For a big single-pin V-twin it wasn't bad. Not at all distracting. The only flaw I could find was in the transmission. The thing was noisy as a cement mixer. It clanked and thudded with every shift, up and down. I guess that's why they were marked down from $13,000 to $11,000 and a $1,000 rebate on top of that. I would almost buy one and put up with the noisy shifter. Everything else was great. They have refined the transmission in the 2001 models.

diving front end I wanted to love this motorcycle as it has a great theme going for it. I am disappointed in the fit and finish, an example being the cooling fins on the cylinder heads being crudely finished to a level that even the dealer complained. Parts of the design are right on and others leave you scratching your head. Test driving this bike with my wife on board was nothing short of dissatisfying as the front end dives like a submarine and my wife nearly ended up in front of me. I tried several test rides and still found the bike needing more development. The dealer kept cutting me deals and the price to the point I felt he wanted rid of it, rather than supporting its good points (which it does have). I will continue to watch the progress of the SC and hope that Victory still stays in the motorcycle business. If they do and if they keeping improving the SC, I may yet purchase one. I also hope they lose Richard Petty, as a promoter as it does not fit the image of Victory and stay with technological promotions of the motorcycle versus some has been in car racing; Arlen Ness and his son are past their prime and no longer represent what cruisers are all about and I hope they lose them as well.

If your looking for an American bike without the dealer rip offs..look towards Victory. You won't regret it. About time an American Company came forward to challenge Harley and the other foreign competitors.
