Responsive and smooth bike that will put a smile on your face when riding on a crooked mountain road. Of my three BMWs, it is the bike I choose. Never had any problems, but keep it well maintained. Bike has surprising amount of power and speed, which has made many believers. Show less

I am the 3rd owner of this machine. It had 17,000 miles when I acquired it. I have put 1,200 miles on it in the 2 months I have owned it. Nothing has gone wrong with it, I just changed all of the vital fluids, new fork springs & rode it.
Likes: Very maneuverable around town, Ok on the highway with a tall after market windshield. Handles OK on fire roads with Avon Gripster tires. Being able to ride out to the mountains & see a forest service road & be able to take the long detour!
Dislikes: Handlebar vibration at highway speeds, low gas mileage 30-40 (but it has a 9.3 gallon tank), too heavy for off road except mild riding on fire roads & forest service roads. Shifter is too short for my big boots, shifting action is poor compared to other bikes I have owned. Show less

I've had this bike for five years now. What do I like about it? Great gutsy torque, under all conditions. Cruises comfortably at both legal, and super-legal speeds. Top handling, and cornering. Lots of stopping power. Good mileage - good range. Comfy stock seat. With the stock hard bags, and aftermarket windscreen, this bike makes a great tourer. With one up, the packing potential rivals much larger machines. Just remove the bags, and it rivals many sportbikes. A reliable, low maintenance, all-purpose machine! What don't I like? The horn button has an awkward action to it, that can cause "misfiring" if not pushed at just the right angle. The kickstand is placed too far foward, which under some circumstances offers shaky support. It's more of a "stealth" bike, than a bike of great "presence" - for those needing attention. Show less
