I was looking for a used motorcycle in 1989. A friend of a friend had a CB 750 C for sale and I went to look at it. It was almost perfect with only 4,000 miles on it. The guy wanted $800 and I offered him $425 which was all the money I had. He took it and I rode off on the 750. What a sweet...

I put nearly 60,000 on that bike till I sold it in 1999. I sold it for $1000. The guy I sold it to has had it rebuilt and I expect he'll put another 60,000 on it. Honda, hats off to you. A solid bike. Pleasure to own and to sell.

This is the best motorcycle I have ever owned. I paid $1100 for a 1982 model in 1985 and put 52,000mi. on it and the only maintenance that I did was changing the oil (20w50 Castor)and put on tires. I did not even change the spark plugs! I rode the bike from Sacramento, California to Dallas, Texas...

I did not even change the spark plugs! I rode the bike from Sacramento, California to Dallas, Texas the long way. I went through the Sierras, and all points in between, 1976mi., 47hrs.10mins. And I had a steady 68 to 78mph., 41.1mpg avg.. 47mpg high and 36mpg were low. this was not the fastest or the sexiest bike I have ever owned, but it was the most reliable and the most economical..

I have owned my CB900C for about 12 years. It really wasn't until last year that I found out what a great bike it is. I commuted to work into December (Wisconsin) with only a Plexifairing III. I just completed a 1700-mile tour through Wisconsin, upper Michigan, through Sault Ste. Marie, Canada along Lake Huron then south to Barrie and then meandered through SW Ontario through places like Guelph, Goderich, Bayfield then to Sarnia, Canada and back into Michigan. Went across Michigan to Ludington. Took the Ferry to Marinette, WI and then back to Madison, WI. Not a problem. I averaged about 45-47 MG MPG on the trip. I am ready to go again. I only have one problem with this bike. I have been looking for a new ride...but, this bike runs so well I really don't want to give it up. I'm on my CB900C every chance I get. Love it!

This is an excellent motorcycle to ride for a shorter rider (under 6 feet) as the seat is fairly low. It has a dual range transmission, around 95 horsepower, and weighs in at over 600 pounds. It produces thrills and chills above 4,000 rpm right up to the 9,500 redline. Happy...

In 1982 the Silverwing Interstate was probably the best midsize touring bike available for the money. Though not a powerhouse the bike was (and is) very smooth and comfortable. The bike was still capable of 14-second quarter-mile times however. Comfort was not a problem on these bikes, nor was available storage space. Reliability was and is quite excellent as well. The only maintenance item of any concern is the mechanical seal at the water pump located between the engine and trans case. This item is pricey to repair and should not be attempted at home. The seal failure usually occurs around 25 to 35K. The engine should last 85 to 100K with normal maintenance, before needing anything major. Values from $700 to $2500 U.S. have been placed on this bike. A couple from England toured all of South America on a lesser model of this machine (CX500) two up! successfully! 1982 is nearing 20 years ago; with this in mind the bike could be considered excellent indeed.
